MB778 opens the next functional API v3 tranche with a deliberately familiar piece of Mediabot: the six small playful commands already reviewed in MB745. 8ball, abbrev, choose, flip, morse and roll now become a persistent development posture instead of a temporary proof.

Observe first, then hand over the wand

The package is loaded on #test with exactly four capabilities: irc.reply, irc.notice, irc.channel_message and scheduler.jobs. It first enters observe, where the v3 handlers run silently and the saved historical commands remain visible. Only after readiness, permissions and the shadow decision are verified does the policy move to on.

The six-command surface remains fully reversible. Policy off immediately returns authority to the saved handlers; disable silences the package; unload restores the exact registry entries and removes the package from the next boot ledger. 🗝️

The portraits stay asleep

playful-v3 also owns the bounded quiet_magic scheduler job. MB778 restores that job across restart but deliberately keeps ritual_enabled=false. The promotion therefore creates no autonomous public line, no question for users and no periodic channel noise. The configuration remains French, subtle and bounded to the normal four-tick cadence should a later supervised milestone ever enable it.

Existing wards are fingerprinted

Before touching the new package, MB778 verifies the established Quotes and Channel Activity development promotions. It then fingerprints every pre-existing ledger entry, including any additional reviewed posture, and requires the exact same bytes before and after the change and restart.

The final accepted state is narrow: playful-v3 is enabled/on only on development #test, the autonomous ritual is disabled, and production is not contacted. Source still declares default-off; the core-owned ledger records the reviewed operator intent. 🔐🦉

A restart is evidence, not rollback

A clean service restart must restore six commands, six saved handlers, one dormant job, complete grants and zero failures. Restart now proves persistence; it no longer undoes a promotion. The rollback remains explicit and auditable: policy off, disable, then unload.

That closes MB778 with another small but useful piece of Mediabot living in the v3 corridor—without waking a single enchanted portrait.
